Parking with a Blue Badge

For more information, visit the Parkinson’s UK website (last updated May 2026).

With a Blue Badge on display, you can park:

  • in designated Blue Badge bays
  • in on-street parking bays and pay-and-display spaces (often free or with extra time)
  • on single or double yellow lines for up to 3 hours, if you’re not causing an obstruction and there are no loading restrictions marked by yellow lines on the kerb.

If you park somewhere with a time limit, you must display the parking clock showing your arrival time. You should receive a clock when you get your Blue Badge. Blue Badge rules do not usually apply on private roads or in private car parks. Some town centres and airports also have their own parking rules, so check online before you travel or look for local signs.

Always make sure your Blue Badge is clearly visible through the front windscreen and has not expired.
